I’m Nancy Davis, and I live in beautiful Mauldin, South Carolina. What?! Never heard of it? It’s a suburb of Greenville. I’m the Owner and President of Bumgarner Transcription and EMR Integration. That’s a long name, but what we do is pretty simple: We help doctors and other healthcare providers increase their bottom lines and provide better patient care.
I have over 30 years of medical transcription experience and in 2001 started my own transcription business. Over the last 12 years, our business has enjoyed growth and stability by adapting to the huge changes in healthcare/medical records industry. In fact, I changed the name of the company from Bumgarner Transcription to Bumgarner Transcription and EMR Integration, because we don’t do just transcription anymore. With the implementation of electronic medical records, we integrate a doctor’s dictated note directly into the patient’s electronic record.
Our knowledge of issues ranging from federal regulations to many different software programs and tools gives us the advantage of giving doctors and their staff exactly what they need to increase their bottom lines and provide better patient care.
In this blog, you will read not only timely topics about federal regulations that directly affect every physician regarding the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR), but also how our company is helping physicians meet those challenges head-on. The services we provide have been proven time and again to help doctors and office staff alleviate some of the burden of compliance in medical records.
To keep it light and keep it from being boring with such dry topics as regulation, I’ll also invite guest writers from time to time – medical office managers, doctors, small business owners, patients, other transcriptionists – people you can relate to who will share their own perspectives and personal experiences with medical records and with the healthcare industry as a whole.
Hey, I know you’re busy. So I’ll try to keep my articles short and sweet and to the point. And please interact with me! Give me your thoughts, your suggestions, your insights. This is not a one-way street. All I ask is that you keep it clean and respectful.
I look forward to getting to know you.
